Our story
Located at the foot of the Romanesque cathedral of Trani since 1994, Osteria Caccianferno offers, in a rustic and at the same time elegant setting, the ancient flavors of Apulian cuisine. The rooms with barrel vaults envelop the customers surrounded by walls of ancient stone and tuff, welcoming each of them in an intimate and convivial location.
Furthermore, during the summer months, it is possible to enjoy the restaurant's cuisine in the lovely outdoor space, so as to enjoy the suggestive architectural panorama of the city and the typical Trani summer breeze.
There are many specialties to try, cooked by the expert brigade, led by the soul and heart of the Osteria, Alessandro Granieri: spaghetti alla "San Giovannidd", orecchiette with turnips, baked pasta alla tranese, legume soups, cavatelli speck and walnuts, capunti gorgonzola and rocket.
Contrary to local traditions, the Osteria offers its second courses exclusively based on grilled meat: lamb, beef, pork, Angus, buffalo, Florentine steak of pure Chianina breed, that is the queen of queens, as well as numerous other cuts of excellent meat, both local and foreign. Do not miss the homemade desserts accompanied by ancient liqueurs. Finally, the assortment of wines is reserved for a selection of the most renowned labels of Puglia.
